EASTER CELEBRATION: A MOCKERY OF THE DEVIL, SAYS CLERIC

*Easter:  Celebrating Christ's resurrection, a total mockery of the Devil  -Fr Uju*

After the passion and crucifixion of our Lord Jesus, the soldiers thaught everything has ended, hence Christ rose from the dead which made a mockery of the Devil who never expected the rising of Christ to life.

This was the words of the Parish Priest of St Augustine Catholic Church, Benin City, Rev Fr Solomon Uju, OSA, who described the "celebration of the resurrection of our Lord and saviour Jesus at Easter as total mockery of Devil" 

Fr Uju who was preaching at the Easter Sunday Vigil of the Lord's Resurrection at St Augustine Catholic Church Benin City, said in spite of the stone placed to prevent Jesus from rising from the dead, God's power made that of the evil one never to prevail.

Uju, who was full of joy over the outcome of the celebration of Christ rising to new life to break the power of Satan, also used his homily to give a narrative of how Christ suffered in the hands of his traitors, died, buried and rose up from the dead on the third day, which he said has put to shame all the works of the enemy 

He further prayed that the resurrection of Christ will bring Christians Joy, favour and fulfilment, while assuring that no one can ever close the doors that God has opened in their lives

*'Do not weaken the Priestly fraternity' -Archbishop Akubeze*   *-By Ruben Mario Brodrick*  The need for all Catholic priests to collaborate with one another and promote one united front by not weaking the fraternity shared amongst priests has again be brought to the front burner.
